GORILData and identity are separate
The WhatsApp number belongs to the account registered in the app; internet can come from Wi-Fi or the selected data SIM. Buying a data-only plan does not give you a new telephone number. You do not need to start a change-number procedure just to travel. Regular calls and SMS to your main line remain subject to your carrier’s terms.
Prepare for signing in again
Changing phones or reinstalling the app may require verification. Check access to your existing number and account security before departure. Internet calls also consume data, so include long video calls in your budget. Compare GORIL allowance and sharing features for connectivity; these features do not guarantee account verification.
Your practical checklist
- Keep your existing account number.
- Check access to it for future verification.
- Include video calls in your data budget.
Make the next step yours.
