Using a travel eSIM alongside your main line on iPhone

You can keep your existing number while using an eSIM for travel data. Clearly assigning the data line and voice line is the key to avoiding confusion.

GORIL.IO Travel & service guides

Label the lines clearly

Give your main line and travel eSIM distinct labels in cellular settings. Set the default voice line for your needs and select the travel plan for mobile data. Automatic cellular data switching can use your main line in some circumstances. Check your home carrier’s roaming call and SMS conditions separately; a data eSIM does not make those services free.

Check after arrival

Turn off Wi-Fi and open a simple web page to test the selected data line. Enable roaming on the travel eSIM if its provider requires it. Follow your product’s GORIL installation instructions; iPhone models differ in the number of active eSIMs they support. If data fails, check the line, coverage and network before considering profile deletion.
